0-8-0 switcher No. 7271, shown here in her former identity as No. 9541 of New York Central subsidiary Toledo & Ohio Central, belonged to class U-1a delivered by Alco in 1913. She shared the 58-inch drivers of the system's class U-1, U61 and most of the U-2 0-8-0 engines. Her group of U-1a locomotives had a boiler pressure of 180 pounds per square inch and cylinder dimensions of 25x30 inches, and exerted 49,460 pounds of tractive force. Members of class U-1a weighed 239,500 pounds. An unidentified photographer snapped this photo at an engine terminal in Toledo on July 17, 1933. No. 7271 was cut up in 1951.
