Canadian National Mikado No. 3422 was a member of class S-1-f, erected in 1913 by the American Locomotive Company's Montreal works for the Grand Trunk Railway. Dimensions of this class were similar to those of other classes in the S-1 series. However, they weighed 283,000 pounds, had a boiler pressure of 175 p.s.i., and produced 51,637 pounds of tractive effort.
