Ralph Emery snapped this photo of Canadian National 4-6-2 No. 5299 at London, Ontario on June 25, 1953. These J-7-c Pacifics erected in 1920 had 57 square feet of grate area, 3356 square feet of evaporative heating surface and 757 square feet of superheating surface; for their other specifications, see the commentary on No. 5295. They were removed from the roster between 1959 and 1961. Like No. 5295, No. 5299 was acquired by the Canadian National Railways and leased to the Grand Trunk until the latter was absorbed into the CNR system in 1923. Tom Rock of Rock on Trains provided this image for our Random Steam Photo Collection.
