The K-3-d class were products of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, assigned originally to the Grand Trunk's lines in the United States that became the Grand Trunk Western; No. 5606's original Grand Trunk number was 297, and from 1925-27 she was assigned to the Central Vermont as No. 236. The locomotive was scrapped in 1960.
