Carl Weber's collection is the source for this image of Southern Pacific 4-10-2 No. 5045 of class SP-3, snapped in Los Angeles in 1936 by an anonymous photographer. When modified some time after delivery from Baldwin Locomotive Works, these engines had 5685 square feet of evaporative heating surface and 1385 square feet of superheater surface, and their grate area measured 89.6 square feet.
