The English-built John Bull began service in 1831 on the Camden & Amboy Railroad. In this view, apparently shot through a glass window in the stands, it is lettered for C&A's successor Pennsylvania Railroad. Now owned by the Smithsonian Institution, it is the oldest operable steam locomotive in the United States.
