Though built by Baldwin in 1899, this is an artificially "historic" locomotive. Originally an 0-4-0 tank engine of the Santa Fe Terminal, it was given a tender and rebuilt especially for the Chicago Railroad Fair in 1948. At that time it was named Little Buttercup after a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta character. In 1986 the AT&SF gave the engine to the California Railroad Museum.
