The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific (Rock Island) operated ten of the twenty-six Alco C-415 road switchers that were constructed. Unit 418 came from Alco in 1966 and was returned to its owner, Railcar Leasing, in 1980 with the liquidation of the Rock Island. Reportedly it later found its way to Mexico. This view by David V. Leonard shows No. 418 at Blue Island, Illinois in June 1968.
