The Budd RDC-1 was powered by two 6-cylinder Detroit Diesel series 110 engines, each developing 275 horsepower. The New Haven was the second-largest operator of the RDC-1, owning 29 units; No. 28, shown here, was delivered in 1953. My father, Dr. R. D. Leonard, took this transparency at Blackstone, Massachusetts in July 1964.
