Alton No. 5280 belonged to class P-15. ALCo's Brooks Works outshopped these Pacifics in 1910 as the Chicago & Alton's class I-5A, numbered 625-634. They had 77-inch drivers and 23x28-inch cylinders, and sustained 200 pounds of boiler pressure. With a locomotive weight of 220,000 pounds they exerted a tractive effort of 32,800 pounds.
