The same freight train, No. 28, continues its way northward. The locomotive has reached the U.S. 66 overpass. Bringing up the rear is caboose No. 2710. Built in 1940 for the Alton Route, it will be sent to International Car Corp. in less than three years for rebuilding, reemerging as No. 2633.
