The schedule calls for the Abraham Lincoln to arrive in Chicago at 2:08 p.m. Passing through the coach yards, we see passenger equipment of both the Burlington Route and the Pennsylvania Railroad. The vista domes mark the cars on the left as belonging to the Burlington's California Zephyr, which was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 2:05 p.m. and depart at 3:10 (our train must be running a bit late.) The Pennsylvania equipment may be for The General, set for a 3:15 p.m. departure for New York. The 1960s Chicago skyline at right lacks, among others, the Sears Tower, which was not erected until 1974.
