GP-7 No. 5796 pauses at the Butler, Indiana depot in July 1955. Its two-car train must be No. 843, a Toledo-Elkhart local, the only train shown stopping at Butler in New York Central timetables published as late as September, 1954. If so, the hour is about 7:30 a.m., which seems to match the shadows cast by the morning sun. My maternal grandparents were from Butler and are buried there, my grandmother having passed away in 1953.
