New York Central Mohawk No. 2615 of class L-1c was assigned to the Peoria & Eastern in 1941 as No. 50. Specifications of this class were similar to those of No. 47 previously, except that No. 50's Delta trailing truck may indicate the presence of a booster adding 11,000 pounds of tractive effort. The photo location is Peoria, but information about the photographer and date are lacking for this image acquired through eBay. Although some 0-8-0 switchers were newer, the P&E Mohawks were the newest over-the-road motive power assigned to that part of the NYC system before World War II. No. 50 served the P&E until complete dieselization at the end of 1950, and was sold for scrap the following year.
