The DT&I returned to Lima Locomotive Works in 1939 with an order for two additional Berkshires. They weighed slightly more than the earlier group, having an engine weight of 416,000 pounds. Otherwise their dimensions were the same, all DT&I 2-8-4s having a grate area of 88 square feet with 4521 square feet of evaporative heating surface and a superheating surface of 1795 square feet.
