The Pere Marquette's class MK-2 2-8-2s came from American Locomotive Company in 1927, erected consistent with the USRA light Mikado design. They had cylinder dimensions of 26x30 inches, a boiler pressure of 200 p.s.i., and a driver diameter of 63 inches. Exerting a tractive effort of 54,724 pounds, they weighed 311,000 pounds. Evaporative heating surface was 3467 square feet, superheating surface 992 square feet, and grate area nearly 67 square feet. No. 1050, the final member of the class and the PM's newest 2-8-2, rests at an unidentified terminal in this photo, purchased on eBay, for which no information is available. With the 1947 merger into Chesapeake & Ohio, No. 1050 became C&O No. 1069 in class K-5. All members of the group were scrapped in 1952.
