The Rogers was built in 1838 by Rogers, Grosvenor and Ketchumit of Newark, New Jersey for the State of Illinois' Northern Cross Railroad. It was delivered to Meredosia, Illinois by boat on the Illinois River. The Wabash Railroad's Decatur shops built this rubber-tired parade replica and displayed it at the 1948 fair; the replica survives at the Illinois Railway Museum. |
