Southern Railway's EMD GP-35 2695 strays from home territory in this view taken at Villa Grove, Illinois on November 10, 1975. The locomotive, like most other Southern GP-35 units, is unusual in having ALCo trucks in place of the standard EMD Blomberg trucks. This came about because the Southern traded in ALCo RS-2 and RS-3 units on its GP-35 order, and Electro-Motive re-used the trucks on the new locomotives which were delivered in 1965. David V. Leonard snapped the transparency.
